I recently made the switch from Windows to Linux and started using the Ubuntu distro. I primarily use JavaScript as a web developer, and sometimes delve into C, C++, and Python for problem-solving and learning. I used to work smoothly on Windows.
However, after transitioning to Ubuntu, I've encountered a significant issue - freezing.
My laptop configuration: Intel Core i5 11th Gen, 512 GB SSD, 8 GB RAM.
Whenever I develop using React.js + Next.js, my laptop freezes. Typically, when I start a project and have two browsers open (Google Chrome and Firefox), and the project goes live, the laptop freezes for about a minute or less. Also, it freezes again when I open just the incognito mode and run the project.
I'm not overloading with extra software open, just VS Code, Discord, Notion, and sometimes two browsers, or maybe just one. Also, I don't keep numerous tabs open simultaneously.
I don't need any additional software as usual for development purposes, just what's necessary.
Now, I'm wondering what steps I can take. Should I stick with Ubuntu? I'm currently using version 23.10. Is there any specific package on Ubuntu that could potentially solve this issue?
Alternatively, should I shift to another distro of Linux? I'm new to Linux, but it's good. Should I shift to another distro of Linux?
