image of my htop stats while problem is occurring
I'm having a near constant issue with my lightsail instances where simple requests like saving a WordPress post can cause all my connections to the site to hang. It can take several minutes just to save a post, and while it's trying, all my other connections to the site won't load either. I look in htop and see nothing indicating this should happen. CPU is low, RAM still has room, network stats show nothing much going on.
What's weird is this happens across several of my WordPress instances. My own internet is fine and while it does this I can browse full speed on any other site. It may be a matter of simply upgrading to a larger instance, but I'd like to know what exactly is lacking first.
What could be going on that isn't visible to htop?
I tried looking for those with similar problems and didn't find much. The usual suggestion is to just upgrade instance. I've tried looking through the access logs and see no signs of DDOS, and it has been so constant across all my instances for some time now that I don't think it is an attack.
The only thing I can think of is that the RAM is too loaded, particularly into the swap.
