I recently switched my laptop's operating system from Windows to Ubuntu, and I'm encountering an unexpected discrepancy in RAM usage. Despite having 12GB of RAM installed, Ubuntu's system settings display the correct amount, but monitoring tools show only half of it being utilized. Even after trying different monitoring tools, the issue persists. What could be causing this discrepancy, and how can I address it?
I've tried various monitoring tools within Ubuntu to check the RAM usage, including the built-in Resource Monitor and external ones, but they all consistently report only 6GB of RAM being used. I expected to see the full 12GB being utilized, as indicated by the system settings and the hardware specifications. Check the screenshot.
