I had my perforce server set up in an Ubuntu 22.04 installation (server only) in a home network. The ubuntu system was a small portable mini PC, I took it away and connected it in a new network I've created with a sim router in fact. A windows pc is connected to this network now, along with the ubuntu server. It took me quite some effort to understand how to change port number, change to a different workspace name (as I'm working out of a different pc now) and I finally connected. Something happened after moving the ubuntu mini pc into this new network, though and it's been a couple years since I understood how to do it all. It's just very slow and unresponsive most of the time. It takes forever to connect. Server seems to do work in the background most times. At times I get disconnected abruptly etc. Is it because perhaps I'm using a sim router? is it perhaps slower? Is there a way to double check some settings? Make sure that everything is in order etc. I keep suspecting that perhaps some settings from the previous setup are fighting each other constantly perhaps. It is also worth noting that my setup is kind of temporary now and I plan to return that mini ubuntu server pc back to the original home network, so would be good to understand how to make the process easier whenever I decide to do this.
