I have been running an Ubuntu Guest OS in VirtualBox for a number of months and while slightly glitchy it has mostly worked fine. However it has now stopped working. The host OS is windows 10. The log file for when I try to run it is here:

Log file of failed VM launch

Noteworthy is the following segment of the log file:

00:00:05.440814 ********************* End of CFGM dump **********************00:00:05.441902 HM: HMR3Init: Attempting fall back to NEM: VT-x is not available00:00:05.459796 NEM: info: Found optional import WinHvPlatform.dll!WHvQueryGpaRangeDirtyBitmap.00:00:05.459813 NEM: info: Found optional import vid.dll!VidGetHvPartitionId.00:00:05.459820 NEM: info: Found optional import vid.dll!VidGetPartitionProperty.00:00:05.459871 NEM: WHvCapabilityCodeHypervisorPresent is TRUE, so this might work...00:00:05.459879 NEM: WHvCapabilityCodeExtendedVmExits = 0x00000000000003ff

I can run the .vdi by going into advanced options during GRUB startup and selecting "Ubuntu, with Linux 5.15.0-138-generic". When I do this the VM runs but very slowly and the following CPU load occurs where there is no guest load but the VMM load is fluctuating as below.
