Ubuntu wouldn't boot on battery power [closed]

so two weeks ago i did a clean install of Ubuntu 24.04.3 LTS after getting annoyed of bloated windows updates. and i cant seem to fix this. btw i did not have this same issue while using windows.

when i try to boot my laptop (while charging) , things it shows

  • grub menu

  • dell / ubuntu loading

  • another dell / ubuntu loading

  • login page

when i try to boot without charger plugged in i see grub menu --> dell /ubuntu then a BLACK SCREEN. literally nothing to figure out.

the backlit works , when i plug charger i hear the sound, so i am pretty sure it did not go to hibernation (or the os not functioning), that means everything is running behind. problem comes when i boot without the charger. and i cant tell if it is a software issue or a hardware issue.

my /etc/default/grub config - (my system is not dual booted but i like the grub menu when booting)

GRUB_DEFAULT=0GRUB_TIMEOUT_STYLE=menuGRUB_TIMEOUT=10GRUB_DISTRIBUTOR=`( . /etc/os-release; echo ${NAME:-Ubuntu} ) 2>/dev/null || echo Ubuntu`GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet splash i915.modeset=1 loglevel=3 systemd.show_status=false"GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX=""

my system details if its of any help :

i have tried to figure out forums like askubuntu but i didn't find any help. it would be a great help if anyone can help me fix this issue. thanks.
