Problem connecting to a Kali VM from an Ubuntu 22.04 host (VirtualBox) [closed]

I'm taking a course on the basics of cybersecurity, and I've come across a big problem that I can't solve. For the record, I installed VirtualBox 7.0 on a Linux distribution Ubuntu 22.04, installed by myself recently in dual-boot with a Windows 11.

In the course, it says to download a Kali VM from the official repo. Once installed and configured, it asks you to use the Bridged Network, which I've linked to a wlpXsX format network interface. A cable connection is detected on my Kali VM, but it can't connect. So I can't ping google.fr. What's more, when I examine "ifconfig", I see that my network interface doesn't even have an inet address assigned.

To isolate the problem, I tried to run the same process on another Ubuntu 22.04 Linux computer. This is my work computer (so I couldn't provide all the configs on this host :) ), so it's possible that there are more advanced network and security configurations than on my home computer, on which I've never overridden or edited any confs whatsoever.

On my work PC, then, I used the same configuration, with the same version of Kali, on the same Wifi, with the same network settings. And poof, everything works!

I therefore assume that the problem lies with my host machine, either due to the double installation of Windows Ubuntu, or because of firewall configuration or something else.

I'm just starting out in IT and this problem is taking me into uncharted territory. So I don't really know what I can do to help. Let me know what you need.
